• Cape Breton's 1st Social Media Conference

Cape Breton first Social Media Conference will take place on Thursday, April 22,  at MacAulay Conference Centre, Inverary Resort, Baddeck.  The conference will open with keynote speaker - Ms. Terri McCulloch, Manager, Bay of Fundy Tourism, setting the tone for the day with "Best Practices of Social Media.  Ms McCulloch is well known for her use of blogging, twitter, and video. Through the use of social media, fans have voted Bay of Fundy as Canada's only representative in the 7 Wonders of the World, one of the 28 finalists.  

After lunch the second keynote speaker - Mr. William Bakker, Director of E-Business, Tourism British Columbia, will talk about using social media , the Vancouver Olympic Games and attracting new visitors to British Columbia in 2010.  Mr. Bakker is considered one of Canada's leaders in Social Media and has spoken at Conferences all over the world. Tourism BC was the first tourism destination area in Canada to have a blog and continues to be one of leaders in North America.  

The conference's last keynote speaker, Mr. Savior Joesph, Director of Digital Marketing, Colour,  will end the conference with his session - Tracking and Measuring Social Media Results. Mr. Joesph has recently presented at Online Revealed Canada and Atlantic Canada Internet Marketing Conferences and social media workshops.  

The conference features several concurrent sessions throughout the day and lots of great choices for delegates to choose what session they will attend. Presentations will be posted to the conference website after the conference.

The registration fee for the conference is $65.00.  Online registration and payment will begin the week of March 29th.  The conference program, registration and all other information can be viewed at Victoria County Social Media Centre website.
